Old Money Shores

This is not a list, it is a mood board. Addresses where October still feels like summer, edited for those who prefer patina to gloss.

Île de Ré

Bicycles and baskets, oysters on a harbour wall, shutters the colour of sea glass. The tide draws patterns on the sand and children learn small freedoms on lanes lined with hollyhocks.

Cap d’Antibes

Rocky paths and pine shade. Walk the ramparts in the late afternoon, then find a small table where old stories live in the wood. The sea stays warm longer than you expect.

Menorca’s south coast

Dry stone, chalk paths and small coves that take a little effort. Simpler and quieter than its neighbours. October shows you its real face.

Deià and the Tramuntana

Olive terraces, cool chapels, a cove for late swims. Evenings call for a dress with a little movement and soft sandals for the steps.

Corfu’s north east

Pale stones, cypress on the hills, a boat for a morning putter to a taverna jetty. The water has a particular clarity in October.

Salina, Aeolian Islands

Green and unhurried, with terraces of capers and late bougainvillaea. Boats rock in small harbours and the horizon blushes at dinner time.

Comporta, Alentejo coast

Dunes, rice fields, long lunches in bare feet. A place that prizes discretion, best enjoyed with a simple uniform in one colour story.

Hydra and Spetses

Stone mansions and citrus courtyards, donkey steps and bougainvillaea spilling down whitewashed walls. October brings stillness to the harbours, and the evenings are best for linen and light cashmere.

What to wear, lightly said

For mother and daughter, one statement dress and one simple. For father and son, fresh polos with relaxed shorts. Keep the tones soft and let texture do the talking. If you add a print, let it be the only conversation in the room.

Love it. Wear it. Cherish forever.
